About PS Fournier Family font

PS Fournier Font Family is a serif font collection that seamlessly blends classic grace with refined style. PS Fournier aptly represents the transition to the modern era of typography. Featuring three optical bodies, PS Fournier is designed to adapt to a variety of contexts.

The 42 styles in the PS Fournier family include Roman and Italic, a range of weights from Light to Black, and 3 optical bodies to accommodate a wide variety of uses. With a little attention, one will notice that the difference between the optical bodies (Small, Standard, and Large) represents more than a simple variation in contrast between the thick and thin strokes and declines a palette of distinct tones: synthetic and robust for the small bodies (PS Fournier Small), delicate and refined for the large bodies (PS Fournier Large).

The standard PS Fournier family with its intermediate optical body is designed to adapt to any situation ranging from text bodies to titling. Set with a slight excess of letter spacing, the PS Fournier Petit allows very small caption bodies to be perfectly readable. The Petit family is not limited to small bodies, however, its robust appearance reminiscent of the style of 19th century “mechanics” will make it an equally relevant choice for titling.

PS Fournier Grand has a higher contrast suitable for large text sizes, headlines or posters. Its refined elegance makes it an ideal choice for subjects such as design, fashion or luxury. As a “modern” PS Fournier Grand offers a greater eye height than pre-existing traditional typefaces such as Garamond or Jenson. These proportions give a simple composition using PS Fournier Grand a strong typographic texture.

Therefore the PS Fournier family as a whole represents a versatile alternative to the Didones commonly used in the publishing industry. The optical bodies, the wide range of weights and the diversity in the design allow this family to adapt to the bodies of legend, labor and titration as well as to very large bodies of posters.
