Hotline Miami Font was developed and released for Microsoft Windows by Jonatan Soderstrom and Dennis Wedin on 23 October 2012 as a top-down shooter video game.

The game takes place in Miami, Florida in 1989 and follows an anonymous protagonist receiving mysterious phone messages with instructions to commit brutal murders at specific locations.
